My partners Mum recently wrote a collection of children's poems featuring animals. As a surprise, I created this colourful Hare illustration in a wood cut effect style, to accompany them.
Logo Landscape
Had a lot of fun experimenting with my blog logo to create a landscape. The design was sketched by hand and then digitally coloured.
Duck Face
Feeling under the weather today, so have been confined to doodling in bed. Experimenting with this style at the moment.
Children's Illustration Style.
I've been experimenting recently with an array of mixed media to create this composition, designed as an example page for a children's book. It was created by digitally scanning different styles of mark making, such as chalk and watercolour and then layered together in photoshop to produce the finished outcome. It's loosely based on an art style popular in 1960's children's book illustrations.
Flint the Dog Illustration
Just a quick one today. Here's a painting knocked up for my brothers birthday to go on the front of his card. It's of his favourite canine pal Flint the dog.
Lumberjack Character Design
Decided to create this Lumberjack fellow as it's been a little while since I have done any character design, particularly with a view to be animated (at some point) in a traditional style. It was first hand drawn in pencil before being scanned and digitally coloured. It's based on the art style from one of my favourite animation series 'Regular Show' by JG Quintel.
